Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg

Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg emphasised in an interview that there won't be "just one AI," criticising competitors who aim to create a singular dominant AI as if they're "creating God." He supports open-source AI to democratise access and foster diverse AI developments reflecting various interests. This comes amidst Meta's announcement of AI Studio and plans to innovate in smart glasses and neural interfaces for more integrated AI experiences.

Google’s Gemma 2

Google launched Gemma 2, its latest lightweight AI model series, and upgraded the Gemini 1.5 Pro model. Gemma 2 includes 9B and 27B parameter models, with a future 2.6B version. The 27B model rivals larger counterparts, while the 9B model surpasses Llama 3 8B. Gemini 1.5 Pro now features a 2M token context window and enhanced Python coding abilities for improved math and data tasks.

OpenAI’s CriticGPT

OpenAI introduced CriticGPT, an AI model to assist human trainers in identifying errors in AI-generated code. In tests, CriticGPT detected 85% of bugs in AI outputs, outperforming human reviewers who caught 50%. Human trainers preferred CriticGPT’s feedback over their own 63% of the time. OpenAI is integrating CriticGPT into its training workflow to improve future AI systems.
